the time of our time
Hoping this becomes one of many engaging commentaries from the gang.
The "time of our time".... a phrase I used in a discussion w/reeps, frankly - accidentally, about where we were in our life (individually and collectively). I meant to say "time of our lives", to open a discussion on the assessment of the point in time that we were in our lifetime (you know "I'm 40, which is the midpoint of my life...and here's where I stand").
But after immediate introspection, we both agreed that this irreverently muffled few words actually have there own significance as well... Here are my thoughts on the phrase --- "time of our time"...welcome others to chime in.
As I now turn past 40, I not only look at what I have accomplished (and not), either for the benefit of my own existence and growth or for the benefit of my loved ones (family/friends) - but I look at the time that we are in today and the time that we will create. My time is now, and always will be. I cannot and should not be consumed by the time that's gone...at least not yet. Things I do today make a difference. And at some point in TIMEs' future, I would like to look back at the moments, the people, the world at various points and reflect on my existence within it. I want it to be meaningful and impactful...it has to be. Every day, going forward --- spend a little time introspecting, laughing, and crying (happy cry). Guarantee it will make your time worthwhile.
here's to good friends.
